CAERUS Shipping and Metro Gate Lines Reinforce Commitment to Syrian Trade at the 63rd Damascus International Fair
Damascus, Syria — CAERUS Shipping and its Syrian agent, Metro Gate Lines, jointly participated in the 63rd Damascus International Fair, held from 26 August to 4 September 2026, reaffirming their commitment to supporting Syria’s importers and exporters and strengthening the country’s maritime trade connections.
A major event in Syria’s commercial calendar, the Damascus International Fair brings together local and international businesses across a wide range of sectors. Its 63rd edition provided a platform to explore trade and investment opportunities, build partnerships, and strengthen connections between Syrian companies and international markets.
The participation brought together the management teams of CAERUS Shipping and Metro Gate Lines, reflecting the close partnership between the shipping line and its local agent. Their presence underscored a shared focus on developing customer relationships and aligning shipping services with the needs of the Syrian market.
Throughout the fair, the two teams met with traders, importers, exporters, and representatives of the Syrian business community to discuss cargo requirements, shipping routes, and opportunities for cooperation.
These exchanges provided valuable insight into customers’ priorities and the practical requirements of moving goods to and from Syria.
The joint participation also highlighted the complementary capabilities of the two companies: CAERUS Shipping’s maritime services and Metro Gate Lines’ local expertise in vessel and port operations, cargo documentation, and inland logistics. Together, they support customers across the shipping process, connecting international services with local coordination.

Implementation of the Advance Cargo Declaration System for All Shipments to Sudan (ACD)
Based on the circulars issued by the Sudanese Customs Authority and the Sea Ports Corporation regarding the implementation of the Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) system, we would like to inform you of the following:
It has become mandatory for all exporters and freight forwarders to obtain an ACD Certificate prior to shipment, effective 1 January 2026, for all types of cargo destined for Sudanese ports.
The ACD Certificate must be issued exclusively through the official electronic platform approved by the Sudanese government at the following link:
www.acdsudan.com
The ACD Certificate number must be obtained from the loading port, whether by the shipper, exporter, or freight forwarder.
It is also mandatory to clearly and explicitly mention the ACD Certificate Number on the Bill of Lading (B/L).
All related parties must fully comply with the new regulations and instructions concerning the Advance Cargo Declaration system.
